Description

The Šabac Theatre, located in the city centre at 11 Karađorđeva Street, is a significant cultural institution with a rich history dating back to 1840. The theatre is housed in the Crafts Centre building, built in 1933, which is recognised as a cultural monument. Since its foundation in 1906, the Šabac Theatre has become an important part of the cultural life of the region, offering a variety of theatre productions to its audience.

Today, the theatre has three stages: the Children's Stage, the Small Stage named after Dr. Braniva Đorđević and the Large Stage named after Ljubiša Jovanović. The theatre prepares 5 to 8 premieres annually and stages around 200 performances on its own stages, as well as around 50 guest performances. In the 2016/17 season, the production of "Pericles" interpreted by Nikita Milivojevic received 15 awards, which testifies to the high level of theatrical art.
