Vieuux Farka Toure, son of a famous Malian musician. Against his father's wishes and even against his family's habit of being a tribe of warriors, Vieuux secretly began studying guitar and enrolled at the National Institute of Arts in Bamako, Mali.
In 2022, Toure released his sixth solo album, Les Racines, on the World Circuit label. «Les Racines» means «roots» and refers to the desert blues music of Toure's father. The album was recorded at Toure's home studio in Bamako and features contributions from Malian musicians such as Amadou Bagayoko of Amadou & Mariam, Mamadou Sidiki Diabaté and Madou Traore.
