The Wind Rock Fest, held in the picturesque Vrsacko Jezero, is a significant music event in Serbia. The idea of creating the festival arose in the rock club "Čađavoj furuni" in the center of Vršac. Initially, the festival was part of the event "Spring on Lake Vršacko" and bore the simple name of a rock festival, where mainly local bands performed.
Since 2018, the festival received its official name and recognizable logo. Vršac, known for its windy days, gives its name to the Wind Rock Fest. In 2019, famous musical groups from the countries of the former Yugoslavia and Great Britain performed on the festival stage, making Vršac a center of rock and roll. The event attracted many visitors from Serbia and neighboring Romania.
The festival was traditionally held in early June, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the dates were moved to the end of July and remain to this day. In 2021, a competition for young bands “Wind Rock Up” was added, which aroused great interest among aspiring musicians. In the first year of the competition, more than 30 bands from Serbia participated, of which six performed at the festival. The winner was the group Jurka from Cacak, and the group Sara Jesika Panker from Belgrade received the audience award.
